I first made moving figures for a project in collaboration with Illusionist Simon Drake and this led to working with Laurence St Leger ,maker of witty miniature toys with his wife Angela and exquisite miniatures of astonishing detail.

The mechanisms Laurence made for me inspired and developed the techniques I use encouraging me to experiment.

The automata I am making now have mechanisms that are an integral part of the design from the start.
